Orani - never 'used to' wash dishes

I didn't use to wash dishes when I was in Thailand, for my parents did, yet now I live here alone, so I'm getting used to it.
My parents always took care of me. My father retired and has stayed at home for 6 years, so he has looked after all of the housework. We sometimes helped him, yet he would love to do everything for us. Since I've been in Perth for a month, I'm used to looking after myself and doing all of housework on my own. The worst thing is washing dishes after cooking and having meals, for my hands and nails are getting used to being dry and hurt, and looking terrible, so I have to wear gloves while washing to protect my hands, but it is not good enough. Water here is far colder than in Thailand, for the weather in Thailand is much warmer. Even though the water system here is set to be hot and cold faucets, and I can make the water warmer, and I am not used to being familiar with it, yet I think I will get used to it properly soon, so now I'm used to appling a super moisturizing hand cream several times a day to keep my hands softer and looking better.

  1. To practice to do the washing up every day is good. Don't forget to use plastic gloves to protect your hands, because using hot water always makes your skin dry. At night before you go to bed you can use vaseline too, so your skin will be very soft.

  2. I can't help you with washing dishes, but I had similar problems with my nails and I'd suggest you to usa a special nails oil with vitamins, it's really good and it will make your nails stronger and nicer!

  3. Don't worry about your hand, I think working- hand is the most beautiful hand in the word. OR u can find a housemate have dinner with u, u can cook and let ur roommate wash dishes.

  4. I think it's a good apportunity for you that helps you. It is a very different experience of your life and you can feel your parents emotion when they do housework. and also, you can manage your situation for keeping yourself safe when you are alone.

  5. I think liquid is much stronger here. Please protect your hands, and put cream every time~
I've also had some problem with my skin since I came here. It's difficult for everyone to get used to new environment and new life style, I guess.
