Caroline - The gluten free foods in Perth‏

I was worried before I moved to Perth, about the kind of food that I had to eat here. About 2 years ago I stopped eating foods that contain gluten, so I wasn't sure if I could continue the diet here. When I arrived in Australia, I used to eat less than nowadays. I lost weight durring my first month here, because I lived in a homestay, and the food was terrible. After a few days I discovered gluten free foods at supermarkets. Gluten free foods are a bit expensive than normal. Perth has much more variety than Campinas.
I love eating bread, gluten free German bread is tastier than the Australian bread, but the Australian is much cheaper than imported. After 4 months living in Perth, I found Italian restaurants in Fremantle with pasta that isn't made of wheat. I had never seen that before.
I went to a restaurant 2 weeks ago and I ate a gluten free sandwich. I paid slightly more than my friends. Perth has far more options than my city.
I hope not put weight on. Every week I'm finding differents biscuits, they are far more deliciois than I was accustomed to eat.

What is gluten?
Gluten is a protein present in some cereals. A wheat is the best example, because some food make with that.
