Josh - 3rd conditionals with explanations

We have just learned the third conditional, used for hypothetical situations in the past. Remember the structure: 'If' + past perfect + 'would have' + past participle.

I would like you to write three third conditional sentences.  After each, include an explanation of it using the conjunctions 'but' and 'so.'

Here are three examples:

If I hadn't met my girlfriend, I wouldn't have come to Perth, but I did meet her, so I did come.

If I hadn't bought an iPad, I wouldn't have used it so much, but I did buy one, so I have used it a lot.

If Anastasiya hadn't found a job, she would have been very bored, but she did find a job, so she is less bored than before.

Post three of your own in the comments of this post.
