1. What language is most commonly spoken in Iran?
Persian is the most common language in Iran. Iran is home not only to Persians, but Turkmen, Arabs, Azeri, Baluchi, and Kurds. These minority groups speak their own language, but most can also speak Persian.

Iran comes from  the  "Aryan" language, which loosely means noble or respectable. The term "Iran" was first used around the third century B.C., when a ruler described his empire as Iranshar - and himself as the king of kings.
