Anna Chiara - My friend Mary

I used to see Mary every day, but last month she moved to Canada, so I'm getting used to talking to her on Skype. She used to live in my street, just round the corner. She arrived in my town when I was 5 years old, and soon we became friends. We spent many afternoons together, playing volleyball, listening to music or just chatting. Every morning we met to catch the bus to school, and we were also in the same year, we were very good friends. She told me her parents had decided to move to Canada for work last month, and I was really really sad. We spent one evening thinking about a way to keep in touch, and we decided the best one was using Skype. So the following day we went to the shopping center, and we bought two webcams. We installed the program and we learnt how to use it. Then she left, but we always use Skype, so I can talk to her and see her. I really must thank Skype for this!

Minhu - Life has changed

I used to have a colorful night life, but since I came to Perth, I'm getting used to a boring life. Perth is a quiet city. Some of my friends like this city, but I don't. I go to bed at 12 and get up at 7 am, I know it is regular life but I don't like it, it sucks. I had stayed in Perth for 2 years but I still have lots of problems with living in Perth. I can't fit in with lifestyle here and I still can't get used to eating Australian food. To sum all of these problems, the point is Perth is too boring.

Hayden~compound sentence

I am used to speak many languages in Malaysia such as Malay, Mandarin , Cantonese , Hockian and English but now I have come to Australia for study. So, I am getting used to speaking English everyday, everywhere , everytime , especially at school with my teachers and friends but sometimes I speak my own languages with my cousin for example Chinese and Hockian.

Nida - The traffic lights in Bangkok

I'm from the center of Thailand ,I live in the capital city which is called 'Bangkok'. It is very crowded and much bigger than Perth. There are lots of people living and working there, about 6 million people.

In my opinion the transport in Bangkok is slightly more dangerous than in Perth because there are lots of cars ,motercycles and buses. In Bangkok,They drive very fast and some people don't follow the traffic regulation, so they often drive much faster than the limit, about 120-140 km/hour and don't stop when they see the yellow light at the traffic lights, so that is dangerous.
In Thailand there isn't a timetable at the bus stop,so we don't know when the bus'll arrive. Finally I prefer the transport in Perth. It is much better and much cheaper than Bangkok.

Caroline - The gluten free foods in Perth‏

I was worried before I moved to Perth, about the kind of food that I had to eat here. About 2 years ago I stopped eating foods that contain gluten, so I wasn't sure if I could continue the diet here. When I arrived in Australia, I used to eat less than nowadays. I lost weight durring my first month here, because I lived in a homestay, and the food was terrible. After a few days I discovered gluten free foods at supermarkets. Gluten free foods are a bit expensive than normal. Perth has much more variety than Campinas.
I love eating bread, gluten free German bread is tastier than the Australian bread, but the Australian is much cheaper than imported. After 4 months living in Perth, I found Italian restaurants in Fremantle with pasta that isn't made of wheat. I had never seen that before.
I went to a restaurant 2 weeks ago and I ate a gluten free sandwich. I paid slightly more than my friends. Perth has far more options than my city.
I hope not put weight on. Every week I'm finding differents biscuits, they are far more deliciois than I was accustomed to eat.

What is gluten?
Gluten is a protein present in some cereals. A wheat is the best example, because some food make with that.

Shoji- "Train Man"

"Train Man" is a title of book. When this book was published in Japan, it became a bestseller in an instant. In addition, it became a TV series, a film, and a multiple manga series.
However, I wasn't at all interested in "Train Man"at that time. I cherished the title when I looked at it in the book store in Australia, so I decided to buy and read that.

The boy, who is bashful and not overly brave, defended a girl from an obnoxious drunk on a train in Tokyo. After that, the girl sent the boy a thank-you pair of pricey "Hermes" teacups. The boy, who is a geek, didn't know what he should do next, so he decided to ask the geeks who are residents on the world's largest online message board for help.

Group Writing - The Red Haired Guy

Yesterday, I cooked dinner for myself, and someone arrived at my home at dinner time, so I invited him, and we had dinner together.
I totally hadn't met him before, but it was good time, and I enjoyed having dinner, but the person was a bit strange.
He had red hair like a clown, so I suggested him to change his hair colour, but he answered me that he was really happy like this, and he asked me to change my hair colour like his hair, or cut mine.
I was enjoying his company, but I didn't want to change my hair style because I really loved mine, but maybe he was right, and it was time for change.
But not for a hair cut, or a crazy colour like he had, maybe just for a little one.
I hoped he would go in the next minutes, so I asked him for his phone number to keep in touch, and he was interested in me, so we're going out to have dinner and have some fun tonight.
I'm going to phone him at lunch time, or when my class finish, but I hope that he will be wearing a hat, so other people will not be scared of his look.
He's much better than my ex-boyfriend even if he was really ugly.
It didn't care, he was very special for me.

The new story started, so I totally forgot about my past.
I don't want to get a new boyfriend, yet I was too shy to ask someone out, but I am a new person now, I can do it!

He's my goll now, I'm falling in love with him.
